Kentia Palms (howea forsteriana) are sophisticated and totally lush. We're calling this one a small, but its not far off a metre tall. They are more tolerant of low light than most other palms. Once they are established, kentia palms can thrive for decades. 

Light: Will do best in a bright room with indirect light. Tolerant of some shade too. Some direct morning or afternoon sunlight for a few hours a day should not harm a large plant, providing it is not too harsh.

Water: Let the top inch of soil dry out (let it get and light and crumbly) before watering again. You can let it dry even more in winter time. 

Humidity: They do like humidity, mist it frequently if you can. Great for bathrooms and kitchens where there is often higher humidity levels. 

Height and growth rate: They are slow growing, and can reach up to 3 metres tall. 

Feed: A weak liquid feed every two weeks or so during spring and summer, or whenever you spot lots of new growth happening.

Toxicity: Non-toxic, so totally safe for pets and kids.
