Rubber plants (ficus elastica) are retro chic defined. They're also very low maintenance, and have gorgeous rich dark green leaves.
Our plants and decorative pots are sold separately, unless stated otherwise.
We are currently updating our website, thank you for your patience.
Light: They prefer bright, indirect light but can cope pretty well in lower light conditions.
Water: Water when the top 2cm of soil is light and dry and crumbly.
Humidity: They're not particularly fussy, but wouldn't mind the odd misting. Wipe their leaves clean with a soft cloth every once in a while.
Height and growth rate: They are moderate to fast growing plants (in the right conditions) and can get up to 2 metres tall. If you notice leaves dropping off, its possibly due to overwatering or insufficient light.
Feed: A weak dose of liquid feed every 3-4 weeks in spring and summer will set it up nicely.
Toxicity: Toxic if ingested so keep away from children and animals. Ficus leaf sap can also be an irritant.
Origin: India and Indonesia.
