We are pretty obsessed with rubber plants (ficus el Robusta). They're popular for good reason - they're very low maintenance, forgiving, and have gorgeous rich dark green leaves. We love this tree shape variety - a beautiful earthy trunk stem and lush green leaves.
They prefer bright, indirect light but can cope pretty well in lower light conditions. If it is not right beside. a window - rotate it into a sunny spot once a month to ensure it is getting more light. Water when the top 2 inches of soil is bone dry. If you notice leaves dropping off, its possibly due to overwatering or insufficient light.
Height and growth rate: They are moderate to fast growing plants (in the right conditions) and can grow half a foot to a foot a year. A weak dose of liquid feed every 3-4 weeks in spring and summer will set it up nicely.
Toxic if ingested. Originates from India and Indonesia.
