Build a Terrarium at home

Nab this gorgeous new book by Ben Newell, a bag of terrarium soil, a glass jar from home to get you started and you've got the makings of a fun rainy day activity. Or, start with the book and encourage your kiddo to come up with their own shopping list of what is needed and also create a drawing design of the terrarium they want to build. We have a few regular customers to the shop who are under 15 and love building terrariums, they are so satisfying to build and watch grow, and they get hooked! 

Crochet Botanicals Kit

For ages 8 and up that love crafting, this kit has all they need to crochet cute botanical shapes, flowers and colourful designs. Available in store and also on our website here. 

Create your own Art Prints 

With this cyanotype kit you have everything you need to make cool botanical art. Kids could make art for their walls, or personalise greeting cards or even design t-shirts. We tested this out with kiddos ranging from five to nine and they loved it. You definitely need some parental guidance to help with measuring out the solutions and reading the directions, but it's really hands on fun and once you expose the paper to the sun, the kids can watch their designs come to life. Check out our short instagram reel here where we road tested it with kids. They loved going exploring for the foliage to use, and mixing up the solutions. A great activity for a sunny day. Adults also love these kits! Do a quick search for 'cyanotype' on instagram or pintrest and you'll see the gorgeous creations that are possible.

If you're going to have stickers plastered all over your house, they might as well be pretty right? This sticker book is a big hit in the shop, and now also available on our website here. 

Fun and inspiring prints for their walls

There's strong Powerpuff girl vibes coming from this Girl Power print by Kate Fox design! Fun and bright and very cool, but with a nice neutral background meaning it'll sit well on most wall colours. Check it out here. 

Book of knowledge

A really fun book for curious kids (aka all of them!). It's quite big, a hardcover, has lovely illustrations and is one that will be picked up again and again for years.  Available here.

The Mindful Magic of Flower Drawing

For older kids who love to draw, this book is gorgeous and is very easy to follow. Published in 2024, the illustrations are modern and on trend, and the colours are joyous and inspiring, perfect for encouraging a budding illustrator or artist (or doodler!).

Marimo glass jars

These guys are available in store only, or you can phone the shop to see if we can deliver to your area in time for Christmas. Very popular gifts, these Marimo balls are called moss balls - but they are actually a slow growing, rare form of algae. They grow around half a millimetre per year, they glow beautifully in the sunlight, and only need their water changed every 2-3 weeks. Fun to look at but easier to keep than fish! They're also supposed to be good luck. 

 Seeds selection

Fancy starting off some seeds in a couple of months and encouraging your budding gardener to get garden obsessed? Try some easy poppy seeds, a butterfly collection of seeds or maybe some delish moroccan spearmint.

Do you have a teen that loves to plan, keep lists and appreciates pretty stationery? This 2025 diary is a gorgeous little stocking filler. Available in store and online here.
