If you're repotting your orchid to give it room to grow, it's really important to use the right stuff when potting it up. Most orchids are epiphytes in the wild - meaning that they grow attached to tree branches, with their roots clinging to the bark. To try duplicate their growing conditions, a potting mix containing moss, bark, and perlite  really important.
